M.A.C. – Feb/Mar Roundup 2025

M.A.C – Feb/Mar Roundup Club news, Notices, Points of interest, Information for Members From the February Committee Meeting held on Monday 24th February 2025

  • With the New Committee members settling in and getting to grips with their roles things are moving along nicely with a great deal of enthusiasm within the Committee.
  • MEMBERSHIPS 2025 – Memberships are now due and will remain open until the 31st March. Please ensure you renew you membership before that date. We currently have a large waiting list of prospective new members which we will start contacting in early April once we know current membership numbers
  • MARSKE NIGHT SYNDICATE – All Night Syndicate members who wished to remain should, by now have renewed, cut off for Night Syndicate payments was 31/1/25. We will now check to see if there are any vacancies before approaching the members at the top of the waiting list.
  • The Committee unanimously voted to publish the Night Syndicate Membership list along with the current waiting list, this will show full transparency around the Night Syndicate, enabling members to see their position on the list – The list has been handed down from each Fisheries Officer / Membership Secretary over the years, and these are the lists we have to go by.
  • Two years ago the Committee voted to withdraw the “by merit not simply on a waiting list” rule and replaced it with a purely “waiting list” rule to avoid any possible undue influence on membership, in other words it is open to all members who wish to put there names down (see rule book or Website for rules).
  • Any queries relating to the Night Syndicate should be directed to the Membership Secretary.
  • MARSKE RESERVOIR MAJOR WORKS – The work on the pegs at the Reservoir has now begun. Please bear with us, and the workmen whilst the work continues. The work is well overdue and will, when complete make the fishery a lot safer & more accessible.

  • HUTTON RUDBY – A restocking of the ponds will take place during the first week of March. At this stage Carp, Tench, Ide and Roach are being added, and details / photos will be shared on the MAC Members Facebook Page and website the the stocking is complete.
  • A new notice board has been erected just inside the first gate, please have a read to keep yourself updated with Club Information such as Matches, Work Parties, Pond Closures etc.
  • The Kissing Gate issue at Hutton Rudby is still ongoing, with the committee in contact with Fish Legal (our solicitors) on a regular basis.
  • Lockwood Beck and Scaling Dam are due to undergo some investigative building work over the next couple of months, some pegs along the Dam Walls may be unavailable whilst the work is being undertaken. This may also affect the matches planned, but discussions are ongoing and any news will be forwarded as soon as available.
  • Membership checks will continue on all our venues, not only by our Fisheries Officers, Committee Members and Bailiffs but also by the Environment Agency who have visited both Marske Reservoir & Hutton Rudby in the last few months, to check our members hold EA Rod licences. If you are asked to show your Membership card or Rod Licence or maybe just asked to reel in to do a rig check please don’t be offended it is merely to ensure our members can enjoy our Venues.
  • Please ensure the gates are locked at all times and all litter is taken home.

Lastly Tight Lines & thanks for reading
