M.A.C. NWL RESERVOIR MASTERS SERIES 2025 – LOCKWOOD BECK – ROUND 4 & OVERALL RESULTS… After four rounds of highly competitive, natural venue match fishing at Lockwood Beck, Russ Hodgson has been crowned this years MAC Northumbrian Water Reservoir Master – taking the title – and £300 prize money – on weight – with a perfect 4 section wins.
After three rounds on rotation the fourth round was an open draw that saw Russ back on peg A6 on the woods – where he won section and match earlier in the series – and with bites hard to come by from skimmers on the feeder Russ opted to fish the pole where he caught quality roach on caster for a section winning weight of 2lb-08oz edging out John Millican for the title with a superior total series weight of 45lb-11oz as John also registered another section win from peg B6 on the dam wall with a weight of 1lb-0oz and a series total of 22lb-09oz for a perfect 4 point Total and second place overall – A fantastic achievement for both anglers to keep a perfect score after 4 rounds of fishing.
Making up the five paid places overall were Ian Kirton in 3rd, Anth Smith in 4th and match organiser Dale Conway in 5th place – all on 6 points divided on weight – well done lads!
On what turned out to be a moody Lockwood Beck with very tricky fishing, Round 4 of the series saw many anglers struggle to find those all important better fish with the winner on the day, Alex Metcalfe showing the others how its done – winning a next peg battle for 1st place and section – putting 6lb-13oz of skimmers on the scales from peg B2 on the dam wall ahead of David Atkins on B3 who weighed 6lb-9oz for second with the champ, Russ Hodgson, in third.
Also winning sections were Anth Smith (A1), Dale Conway (C3) and Bill Blythe (C7) – Great to have last years winner, Jim Taylor, with us for the presentation to passion the baton!
