MAC – CARP STOCKING – MARSKE RESERVOIR & HUTTON RUDBY PONDS – FEBRUARY ’26

As mentioned in the recent club update, Today (Tuesday 3rd February), Both Marske Reservoir & Hutton Rudby Ponds received a stocking of common & mirror carp, further to the addition of silver fish in December and in-line with current club stocking policies.

At the reservoir 25+ specimens of between 6lb & 8lb have been added to boost the current stock while 60+ smaller carp of 1lb+ have been added to the back pond at Hutton Rudby ponds in a lb for lb replacement of the bigger fish that were moved from the back to the front pond last year.

Great to see the work that’s been done to deter air-borne predation up at Hutton Rudby by Martin and also the attention to detail in the ongoing work of the reservoir fisheries team – from improving access by levelling the path and clearing problem roots and years of undergrowth to the removal and disposal of trees from the dam wall and surrounding area as advised in the reservoirs act report – really impressive voluntary work being done on all fronts to improve club venues for our members.
